From the beginning of discussions in 2006, the East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) thought it vital that SEAS should have a strong community focus to ensure that local residents felt that the event belonged to them. ELDC wanted SEAS to leave a legacy and inspire future community activity. An important objective for them was therefore to involve as many local artists and arts organisations in a large locally curated programme as possible.
The event programme was available in Polish and Portuguese translations – the two largest non-native communities in the area.
