SEAS Training

As the Black/North SEAS progressed we developed a series of workshops for professional artists and producers/presenters, especially the younger and emerging talents that we encountered in each SEAS venue.

SEAS artists and advisors were asked to deliver short masterclasses and seminar series in many of the SEAS places and to engage with the local cultural operators and activists in a practical skills exchange.   Eugenio Barba and Julia Varley, Dragan Klaic, Lidia Varbanova,  Wunderbaum and many others participated, and the most extensive workshop programme was carried out by the hub in connection with the SEAS Club (Deirdre Melvin, Andi Studer and Jenny Harris) who worked with local organisations and music makers to develop the local programme of the club.

In the months before SEAS went on the road we held a series of internships with emerging producers/managers from Partner organisations, hosted by Intercult in Stockholm, offering capacity building and exchange of knowledge. A crucial training session took place in Stockholm in December 2007 when we brought together all the EU grant coorganisers to address the technicalities and logistics of the complex three year tour.

SEAS also created an International Technical Team, which brought together both young and experienced technicians from several North and Black Sea nations.
